American Friends Service Committee (map)
The 2010 State Convention of the Socialist Party of Massachusetts, will be held on Sunday, 28 February, starting at 1 pm in the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) office in Cambridge.
AFSC is wheelchair accessible and is located at 2161 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge, between the Porter Square and Davis Square T stops on the red line.
The State Convention will bring together socialists from across the state to work on statewide projects, campaigns, and organization. Special attention will go to organizing new locals, as well as to the role and organization of the state organization and how it relates with locals, and with members in unorganized regions. More information can be found in the preliminary agenda currently being developed.
Feel free to contact us for information about carpools, or with any questions.
Great to see all our Boston regulars will be there! It's been a while since we were all in the same room together. Hopefully we can get representation from around the state too.
I'm thinking of proposing that the State Convention adopt some by-laws. Here's a link to what I have in mind: http://spboston.org/index.php/February_2010_State_Convent...![]()

The SPMA has decided to authorize $120 for grants up to $40 to help people come. Grants will be based on receipts presented at the convention. Priority will be given to SP members, women, people of color, youth and people facing economic hardship.
If you're planning to come, please RSVP on meetup
or send us an email at spmass@gmail.com.
We would also like to facilitate car pools. If you are driving in, please let us know where you are coming from and if you can pick people up.
